About Business School

The Baikal International Business School (Institute), BIBS for short, is a subdivision of the Irkutsk State University (ISU). The School focuses on the development and implementation of international educational projects in the field of business and management.

The Business School's mission: To spearhead the process of accumulating and on-going upgrading knowledge in the area of business and management in Eastern Siberia; to develop and contribute to business culture and competitive market relationships in the region; to foster and maintain corporate culture in an ever-changing environment.

    The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC)

    On July 1, 2019 the University of Maryland University College (UMUC ) adopted a new name - The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC).

    Since 1991, ISU and UMUC have been involved in the joint educational project by implementing the BS and MS programs in the area of management.

    The Russian Association of Business Education (RABE)

    The nongovernmental non-profit association of business education institutions of Russia. BIBS ISU has been a member of the Association since 1991.

    BIBS ISU incorporates:

    1. SASM. For international students, the following programs are available:
  • Full-time Russian BS and Russian-American BS programs.
  • Full-time and extra-mural MS program. Focuses on ''Global Management: Applied Finance''
  • Secondary professional education for high school graduates, for individuals with incomplete university education, and for those striving for an extra vocation.

    BIBS ISU specializes in the development and implementation of international innovative projects in the field of business and management. The distinctive feature is that some educational programs are implemented in collaboration with the Russian and international partners awarding the degree to our students. The School aims at the provision of the regional business circles with the international cutting edge business and management trends.

    Since 2008, the Baikal International Business School, alongside with 19 Russian business schools, has been listed in the UN-approved international ranking ''1000 Best Business Schools of the World.'' Eduniversal, an international scientific committee, awarded BIBS ISU with ''Two Laurels'' League membership that is indicative of a high regional significance and extensive international ties of the School.


    BIBS ISU's Own Findings
    Over the years, the School has benefited from both Russian and international expertise. At the same time we have gained our own experience in the application of IT in education. All the programs have made a wide use of distance learning and teaching on the Internet due to the unique school's HECADEM Internet-based program. In the past decade, the above platform of the Internet-based instruction has proved to be effective and recognized internationally.
